Mustang to Stallion...
Discussion
For those following the 200mph Mustang thread will have seen I sold the car.
It went to a new owner 2 weeks ago and still remains the fasted Mustang in the UK at 202.9 mph and the only UK Mustang to break 200mph that I’m aware of. The decision to sell was based on what I had in the car and I knew I had a chance of breaking even after 2 years of owner ship.
There were a few cars in mind that I wanted to own but only one currently that I could buy, enjoy and sell on after a year or 2 with little risk of losing my ass in depreciation.
So welcome to my 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena F1.
This was a private sale advertised in Stoke. I had a few calls with the seller (who is a PH member) and arranged to view on a Friday morning. My Brother-in-law drove me down and my Nephew came along for the ride. We arrived just after 10am and by about 12 I decided I wanted the car. We made a deal and then came the ball ach of trying to make the payment. I bank with HSBC and they don’t like you spending your money. So after paying so much in cash, so much over the phone banking then the remainder by transfer that took 6 hours to do due to HSBC constantly blocking it we set off back to Wakefield just after 7pm.
After dropping the Nephew off I got home about 2 hours after leaving Stoke and a little more def than when I set off.
First a few pics
Just after 9pm when i got home

The next morning

More to come shortly.

I’ve always hankered after a Ferrari. I recently watched JayEmm of PH and YouTube fame doing a video about his Ferrari 550 and the cost of using a main dealer. I was shocked at the cost and not in it being stupidly expensive compared to a good Ferrari independent.
Might be worth a look to you. But I’m not sure they cover modified cars under there older Ferrari scheme.
Hope it brings you lots of joy. Looking forward to following the journey.

Congratulations, really enjoyed reading about the Mustang build and was surprised so see you had sold it but I guess if you had ticked all the boxes with it then it was time to move on and try something new.
What’s the plan for the 360? Please do something bonkers like supercharging it!

Cheers guys.
Plans for the 360 at the minute are just general maintenance first and spend a bit of time driving and enjoying it.
The car came fitted with a Nouvalari exhaust which when up in the rev range sounded great but for normal driving about was way way too loud. It made the Mustang seem quiet. The morning after I got it home I fired it up and it set the alarm off on the van. Something the Mustang never did.
So a quick ebay search found a standard valved exhaust.
on the quick jack

wheels and bumper off

and exhaust off

The car very easy to work on and take apart.

The standard one is quiet but the valves open up when higher in the rev range to let out some nice flat plain noise.
Next up was the drivers window that had a small gap between the glass and weather strip that was whistling over 65mph.
Door off and some adjustment and its now a snug fit and no more noise.

One thing was noticed when I bought the car was the front tyres, there 13 years old.
A pair of Michelin's were ordered up from Camskill and fitted locally as soon as they landed.
Then it was on to Bram Racing in Castleford for a 4 wheel alignment

The toe was out both front and rear but the rear right was the worst.
It now drives straight and feels very sharp for a 20yo car.
The standard Becker radio was pretty crap so i swapped this out for a Pioneer head unit with motorised screen. Now have carplay/bluetooth etc.

20yo Ferrari are lacking in cup holders and isofix. Quick search on Amazon and i found an isofix bracket that slots in from the back and has a tab for the strap. So the seat is held in by isofix points and the seat belt. I take my little girl out with me often and she loves being in the front. The other plus side was he seat has a cup holder.

Engine bay got a bit of a clean up. Forgot to take a before photo.

Paint on the header tank is starting to bubble slightly so this and a few other bits will be getting refinished over winter.
Two little red Italians

I have some parts on order for the engine side to replace the 20yo bits including
Battery
MAF's x2
Coils x8
Plugs x8
lambda's x4
then a service.
Already looking at turbo's as the stock engine will take around 5/6 psi but not 100% i want to do it yet.

My 997 needs wheel alignment. How much was it, if you don't mind saying?
Mine was £75.Just a quick copy/paste from there site
Costs
We charge per adjustment, as we feel this is the fairest way to charge.
The minimum is £45 which includes a check and two adjustments. We then charge £15 for each adjustment after that, however we will discuss the costs after the check is carried out. Our current cost of a check is £25.
An example of our process is as follows:
Vehicle is booked in for alignment.
A check is carried out to see how the vehicle is currently setup.
You are then informed about the options and number of adjustment required, letting you know the price before we carry out the work.
Once agreed. Change are made to the vehicle. However if you don’t want the changes then a charge of £25 alignment check is billed.
The average vehicle cost is £75 and the maximum number of adjustment some vehicles can have is 10 adjustments.
So an example would be 4 adjustment would cost £75.
