Thought I'll start a reader rides thread on my 2004 Honda s2000.

I got her late 2018, at 29K miles, she's at 33k(weekend/summer toy only) now. I've always had a thing for an S2000, since I was a teenager all my racing games etc I had an s2k in them so it was natural progression to get one after my mk1 mx5(which I do miss). This popped up on pistonheads after looking around for a couple of months and it was the one, owner was OCD like me with things and the car was immaculate.

She's got a few mods done by me and previous owner with all the stock parts sitting in boxes ready to go back on when it is time for it to go.

But the quick list is -;

Ohlins Road and Track coilvers
HKS HI-Power twin exit system
Work Emotion ultimate kiwami 18" wheels
AP-Racing BBK with ferrodo 2500 pads
Alignment/setup for fast road
Splitter
Retrimmed interior in alcantara
Facelift lip
Boot spoiler/ducktail

As far as future plans go with it, I don't have much right now. I have a few ideas, mainly front bumper related and I am very tempted to with Voltex front bumper for that extra aggressiveness but at the same time I want to go a bit silly and get a big wing on the back, voltex bumper, set of recaros etc.. we'll see where my imagination takes me. I do also want to get an intake for it, the lid-off sounds great but I'd like something a bit more focused, doing my research etc AFE Takeda intake is probably what I will end up with, will be imported from US later in the year!

As it stands I only really drive it at the summer, daily it most of the days, take it shows etc.

A few pictures of the car:

front last year

Interior(you can see the alcantara retrim, flattened steering wheel, CR Knob etc..)

I'll be posting updates etc in the future, next for it is a service as it has been sitting through the winter in the garage, just waiting for all oem honda bits to come and she will be serviced, ready for the summer!

That's lovely - that retrim really lifts the interior. They look really delicate these days, the side view with the low bonnet especially.

I had 2 S2000s back in the early 00s, the company I worked for allowed company cars by brand and Honda was on the list - I jokingly asked if I could have an S2000 and without knowing what it was they ordered one for me on a full service contract. Shortly after I rolled mine, they took the S2000 off the list, Civics and Accords only and no 'R' cars biggrin

I agree! that really lift the interior and makes it feel a lot more special, and that's not something you see in japanese cars.

Really like these cars, this one looks like a great example.

Oddly, despite doing over 30k miles a year i've never seen one driven in anger on the road.

owners are intersting you have two extremes, guys with big power and crazy mods and then older guys who had them from new with 20k miles

if I do it would be a whole new bootlid so easy to return it back to stock smile I don't want to do anything to it that I can't revert.

That looks awesome and a lovely spec. I dont think i could do any more to the looks of it, its the perfect compromise of practicality, performance and subtlety right now.

These engines do need some form of intake on them though, just to bring out the crazy noise on the cam change over! I dont think i'd ever want to charge one, just because you'd loose that noise!

Nice gentle mods make a big difference.

Do you mind if I ask how much the retrim was...my drivers side seat bolster needs sorting and it would be nice to have a but of bum grip in the seat. Definitely nothing to do with how flash it looks smile

Lovely example! One of the nicest mildly modified ones I've seen, that colour is lovely in the first few pictures.

The interior retrim really improves things too. Enjoy!
