Has any one used Rust Stop? Alledged to halt rusting by using a sacrificial anode. Does it/will it work?

In theory it sounds legitimate.
Only worry is how long this sacrificial anodes last. If they do a Gillette and charge shedloads for replacements...mind you the anodes will only be made of something like zinc and could probably be obtained elsewhere. You'd want to make sure though, get the wrong 'un and you'd accelerate the rusting!!!!

Cathodic protection is something that has been used on ships for some time now. It requires quite complex control systems to get the current flow just right though, if you over do it it can accelerate the corrosion, if you under do it you're wasting your time.
The experience gained in ships could I suppose be transfered to cars, but I don't think it would be in the car manufacturers interest to make a everlasting car, do you .
