Evening all ...

Been here a while. Very varied history, fords, BMW's, an MX5 and a few bikes.

This is my latest car after selling the fiesta ST I had for a few years. I travelled all the way to York on the assurance of a dealer that his car was a Gem. Upon arrival, I popped the key in and a giant Red ! displayed on the dash. Absolute pup the car was but Ho Hum,live and learn and as fate would have it I found this little Gem.

I haven't driven this a great deal due to a lot of Christmas spirit(s) and poor weather but very impressed with the car and look foward to the summer. Not much planned just tidy up as it is 13 years old after all.

A very good drive. Hugely different to the feel of the fiesta, much more engaging and "analogue". Enough chat, here's some pictures.

I'll get a few more when the sun arrives.

Oh and the noise evil

Dealer photos.

A brief bit of sunshine

A good scrub

Broken badge

Replacement

Erm black, big engine and no roof.

I jest...

Heated seats, xenons, some shiny seat backs, obviously 19" carrera wheels and some other odd's and sods. I did decipher the codes but I can't recall where I put it.

Who knows at the minute, clean it up first as it is the oldest car I have owned and then see what happens.

Hmm not sure which one was more annoying...

The broken badge or it’s replacement that seems to follow a curve that isn’t present on the bodywork. Would bother me that the P and E are closer to the shut line than the rest of the word!

Lovely car though OP, hope you enjoy it. biggrin

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm going to look at getting the wheels painted and a steering wheel refurb in the near future just to freshen her up.

Looks to me like the replacement is straight but is sitting alongside the curved edge of the panel. I'd have stuck with a replacement original badge FWIW but diff'rnt strokes and all that.

Nice looking car OP. 911BOX always seem to price VERY strongly so I'm glad to hear that they offer good service.

Thanks, I wouldn’t say I got a bargain but the history is good and seems to have been looked after. Just need some sun! I’ll grab some more pictures at the weekend.

Not much to report - nice little spin out to the countryside this yesterday morning. Tad chilly with the roof down en route home.

Lots of smiles and a filthy car

Decided to try and sort the roof out this morning and give the car a clean as it was filthy from the winter roads.

If you are in Essex that would explain why it just rained.

Dodo juice still doing its job

Nice looking motor, one of my friends bought one not long ago (a black 987 S) and after going for a spin in it and rather leaning towards getting one myself as well!

That picture above looks like it could have been taken at our local Pistonheads breakfast meet in Bickneacre (Essex) last saturday ?

I normally attend those meets, but after having a few too many drinks on the friday evening i wasn't able to drive Saturday morning...

Aye it was, been 7 or 8 years since I last went to a PH meet on 4 wheels. 2 has been my usual mode of transport although I much prefer a heated seat to that of exposed leathers.

Not much happening, driven this more now in 3 months than I drove the fiesta ST I had in the last year of ownership.

First proper drive out now with the roof down.

"De-Snorkeled" the car which involves removing what could be described as a restrictor for the air intake.Sound is improved above 3k rpm.

Lots of fun, roll on summer.

Painted the silver vents which I thought always looked slightly odd black.

Enjoying the recent spate of weather very much.

Nice looking car....hope you are using it as much as you can!!

Went for a silver 2001 S myself last summer and absolutely loving it..

Every chance i get the roof comes down...don’t see the point of having it unless it’s down...!!
