After selling my MX5 a few years ago I missed the fun of driving a small roadster so started looking for something fun for the weekends, I've always loved the look of the BMW Z range so started the search and picked this up during the summer smile

It's a 06 3.0Si with a few mods done to it - 19" 313;s, K+N filter, Brembo brake upgrade and wrapped white by a previous owner..

I was a bit unsure buying a car with a wrap as the paint condition underneath could be in any state but I managed to get pictures of the wrap being applied and that kind of put my mind at rest. As the wrap had been on for a few years and was starting to peel at some corners I spent an afternoon getting stuck in and removing it so now left with....

I absolutely love this car and I think it looks much better in Phoenix yellow but that may be down to the fact it took nearly 4 hours and many furiouscensored but it just looked wrong with the yellow interior/white wrap.

I think it looks great, I much prefer cars in interesting colours and I have a general dislike for white ones any way.

These are great value now and have aged very well.

Fantastic looking car. Much better than the 2 next generations. Must be wonderful with that N52B30, nice colour too.

I'd get rid of those red badges and wheels though

The wheels although I like them are starting to become a massive pain, I got a crack in the offside rear a few months ago and although the repair seemed ok it's now cracked in another place so yep the wheels are getting swapped for some 18's before next summer.

Much better in it's intended colour yes worth the effort.

+1 on the red/black centre cap removal, I don't understand the red/black thing, looks especially out of place when you have a badge on the front wing.

Phoenix Yellow is one of the rarest colours on a Z4 - why on earth would you get it wrapped in white? banghead

It looks so much better in it's original colour. thumbup

Is it still on run-flat tyres? They seem to be the major cause of damaged 19" wheels.

I know I couldn't believe it when I seen the wrap, apparently it was the previous owners wife wanted a white one rolleyes

It's on normal tyres now but I think the 313's were notorious for cracking so possibly the damage was already done, it's not a harsh ride by any means but I think dropping down to 18's would be better.

The red center caps are getting binned when I change the wheels byebye

Looks superb in Phoenix Yellow. My wife has just purchased a Z4 and I went to take a look at this one...

It needed too many bits and bobs sorting for the money though unfortunately so we didn’t go for it. Shame because it does look fantastic.

I bought one around 2010/11. It was when they were introducing the 2ltr turbo to replace the 2.5litre so i got a great deal on a new one with the old engine, which was a superb engine.

Great fun, though a rough drive on the big alloys which would leave you shattered on a long drive, but for a thrash about was superb. Looked superb.

Engine noise was fantastic as well. Bit gutted I got rid of it when I did

Very nice indeed. And as everyone has said, it looks way better in Phoenix yellow than white!
