Hi all,

Just taken delivery of a Pure white up GTI 5 door, it was pre owned. It will be replacing the XC70 in the photo (will be sad to see it go) but I would like to keep the Exige on the drive way as well as the UP and the OH's car. The Exige is in storage at the moment, but it will be nice to have it at the house. The up will make more sense around here too just to pop out to the shops, and I can get all I need for work in the boot too. It will take a bit of getting used to with the size difference, but will be great to be able to get into spaces that I couldn't in the XC..

I went for a quick drive after it was delivered, I must admit, I'm very impressed, really doesn't feel like a 3 cylinder, not bad acceleration, and torque too. It even seems quiet refined cruising. Even if the sound inside the cabin is artificial, it does sound great, and adds a bit more fun on a journey.

Congratulations on the purchase, and welcome to the club.

I'm a week into ownership, few minor gripes, but overall it's fitting in to my life very well.

I've had mine for close to 3 weeks. The noise is addictive and it's great fun to drive!

All the best with it.

looking good, surprised to see it was pre-owned given some cars ordered from the very beginning are only just being delivered!

How are the seats over longer journeys? I love the look of these but I wasn't a big fan of my friend's seat over a long trip we took, but his was just a boggo TSI not GTI model.

Really is addictive, and doesn't seem t to drone which is good, even on the motorway it seems quite refined.

I'm wondering if it was a dealer demo car, when I connected my phone to the bluetooth, there was quite a few names on there!

They don't seem bad to be honest, I think they're just standard up seats, with the tartan pattern, They could do with having a bit more side support, but Im pretty pleased with them.

The Volvo sadly was sold this morning, and the little up has been joined by its parking buddy, Nice to have it at the house finally as its been away in storage as we didn't have room for the Volvo, and the OH's car, its great that I can park the up like this! Also, very impressed I can get a Photo Booth in the boot, with everything els I need to run it

Most of the early dealer demo cars were white. Lots of dealerships have got red demos now. I think customer orders are about 70%red, 20% black and the rest silver and white.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am currently looking at the feasibility of getting an Up GTI for the work run (30 miles each way along country roads).

Now your a year into ownership could I ask the following questions:

- Real world MPG?
- Service Intervals

Any other thoughts you have on ownership would be much appreciated!

I've just passed 9500 miles.

Driven carefully and not like a GTi you can get, 50-60 mpg.

Driven with passion : 40-50 mpg, which is pretty remarkable

Service interval is 12 months or 10,000 miles ish. But its very cheap, two VW services is £295 on a service package. (£150/yr)

It's a brilliant little car. Capable, cheap and really fun

Thanks! Annoying about the service schedules. I’ll be servicing every 6 months ish in that case! I plan on racking up the miles on it though so perhaps won’t bother and do it myself!

Glad your enjoying it!

Great choice of cars- you mirror my stable. The Up is a highly likeable car.

A word of warning to any fellow UP Gti owners - I have just had a Miltek exhaust and coilovers added to mine, it has pretty much ruined it. I’m arranging to see if the coilovers can be softened up and the Miltek made substantially quieter as it is now an awful concoction of noise and stiffness and basically gives the impression that I am borrowing a 17 year olds car. There is now very, very little to enjoy on what was, in retrospect, a capable all rounder.

Some things are best left alone.......what a disaster!

Yes, the village near me is plagued by idiots in noisy Fiestas and Skodas, repetitively accelerating from 20-50mph along the High Street.

Really tempted with one of these when our PCP Yeti goes back.
