Earlier this year we had a NB MX5 alongside a Honda CR-V. We bought a T5 camper to hire out alongside our B&B, and I went to MOT the MX5 and was asked by the tester if it was for sale. It made sense as the insurance, tax, MOT and our parking permit was up in the next week, and the sills have been going rusty and would need sorting soon. A price was agreed and I walked home with no car but some money!
A few months passed with the Camper and the CR-V, then a conversation with my wife we ended up agreeing neither of us liked the Honda. I tend to change cars fairly often but she agreed with me to go look at our local BMW as I fancied a closer look at a 1 series having always liked my mums old one. I took out a 120d which whilst nice was just nice. On the way home I worked my man maths to Mrs ADogg and declared a 130i would make perfect sense. She agreed and so began the hunt...
The spec was set - a 5 door with leather (we’ve a nipper and dogs), was all we needed. She doesn’t like looking at cars so I found a lovely low mileage example at a BMW specialist “only” 1hr 45 mins away (Scarborough is a trek away from everywhere!) and went to take a look. The only thing was it was a 3 door.
I bought it.

Earlier this year I just missed out on a Japan Red 130i to replace my Imola Red E46 325ti Compact.
I ended up being more sensible and getting an E91 325i Touring, but I can't help wondering what if!
E87's are lovely cars, do miss mine albeit wasn't a 3.0 one, but size was it's achilles heal - as it had a great feel, poise because of its size, it was compromised, the E91 which I too now have is alot better practically.Earlier this year I just missed out on a Japan Red 130i to replace my Imola Red E46 325ti Compact.

Think any of the E's range (1er/3er) were all the last generation of BMW not too big, but just perfect.
Lovely looking car op tho, definitely low key which is what I like.

it wasnt from Cramag was it by any chance ? The number plate looks familiar think I was looking around the car the other week while they were carrying out a service on my 635, it looked a nice car with decent mileage nice to see it has xenons as well.
It was indeed! The plates have changed now as my in-laws bought my 4 year old son a number plate!
He loves the car, and has told me it’s his and that I’m looking after it for him, I’ve created a monster, haha!
I’m going to get round to give it a bloody good clean and wax this week weather permitting.
