Impulse purchase - Renault Twingo Gordini....

Yesterday I went to the Classic Car Show in Manchester with my 16 year old son. We've been talking first cars for ages and were pretty settled on a Lupo GTi - but trying to find one not chavved up was a nightmare, and insurance was a bit steep (£2800 pa).
So, whilst at the show our eyes were drawn to a Twingo Gordini. I didn't even know they existed! An ace looking car, with a lovely set of alloys and decent branded tyres (always a good sign of decent previous ownership imo).
We carried on going round the show, searching for insurance quotes - came back at £1400! Not bad at all. Eldest son's wheezy Fiat 500 1.2 with 69bhp was £2.5k.......
So Gordon has a 1.2 turbo with 100bhp. Not bad for a first car. Lovely black and blue leather interior. A deal was done and we pick it up on Wednesday. Pics off the dealer website for now - will post more after pick up. If anyone knows or has any feedback about these I'd love to hear:

Great cars and far too good to be a first car, lucky sod!
If he ever gets the urge to tune it, which he likely will, then be careful with the chip tuning and don't get a cheap one that goes to over 130bhp. That's considered the limit of the injectors so they need to be changed before going higher.
I can't remember the tuning firm but one of them has an uprated suspension package that maintains the great handling but actually improves the ride, although that's probably not too hard.
Terrible turning circle for a tiny car so he'll get plenty of practice at multi point turns.

Welcome along to twingo ownership! The white gordini is rare there usually blue!
The tce engine is a little peach and pretty quick. Cant really see in the pictures but they don't look like gordini alloys they should be 15" speedline turinis.
I have a 133 and it was a brilliant road car and had no issues with it at all.

You’re right about the wheels, they’re not standard but the 16 yr old likes them (as does the inner 16 yr old myself). Exhaust isn’t standard either.
I’m really amazed by the insurance cost tbh.
I’ll give a further update when we collect it on Wednesday. In the meantime, thanks for all your replies!
