The acceptable face of shedding (ML content)

Just bagged a reasonable looking ML320 on eBay for bang on shed money - picking it up tomorrow. 
The pics below are from eBay, will do some of my own once it's home and cleaned. She's not mint, but is pretty tidy and lacks clear signs of terminal rust...(might revise that once I've seen it)...beyond the dented door and rot on the tail gate.
Just 105k on the clock, FSH too - so hopefully no terrible surprises lurking.
Purchasing to fill a 4WD hole now the Outlander is gone, and to act as Mrs Brett's run about until her new wheels arrive.
If this is a good'un we'll probably keep it forever.

Had a busy-ish weekend replacing the throttle pedal (worst, cheapest design ever) and throttle cable. Cleared all the legacy fault codes, added a new MAF sensor...reset the clock.
Its a very solid car, will need to sort out the passenger door and boot in the summer though. (Also will clean it off and waxoyl the whole thing)

Good shedding. I was looking at these about 10 years ago and they were by far the most neglected cars I had ever seen. Not a single one of the five or so 'best' ones I viewed had been looked after at all. Ended up buying a Shogun instead.
Now they're shed money they make a lot more sense than when they were pushing 5 figures.

2500 miles into the ML ownership experience now, dropped it in for an early MOT - passed. (See other thread regarding commercial tyres fittted to the front!!!)
MOT tester was impressed with emissions and brakes.
Does all that is asked of it - can't complain at all.
Now I really want an ML55 when the Golf-R goes back!

A pal has the 500 version of this car... despite the fuel thirst he wants to keep it just for the winter ( they live in Scotland !).
I have driven it briefly, and was really impressed....possibly more by the power of the V8....but the interior is a nice place to be, and the sound system was excellent.
They seem a strong car but his seems to be suffering form quite a lot of bodywork rust. Which I would not have expected from a Merc.

Really? It's exactly what I'd expect from a Mercedes that came out in the 1990sAnyway, nice car OP. I like these old MLs and it's always a car I check out at the kind of price you got it for
