1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Hi guys,
I'm new here, so thought I should come and introduce one of my vehicles.
One of these has been my dream car for years now, and when I found my perfect one online we simply couldn't resist.
It's a 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - the last year they made them making it a "Final Edition". The colour is the one-year-only Hunter Green, making it one of only 150 ever made in this colour. It has an AMC 360/5.9 V8, running on petrol/LPG with a three-speed automatic.
It started life in the US before being exported to the Netherlands in 2006. Apparently it spent its life there towing classic race cars around Europe, before changing hands a couple of times via Poland and finally ending up in Austria last year.
It was in Austria that I visited it, being sold by a classic car dealer who personally knows Stirling Moss and sometimes supplies him with cars for rallies.
There was no way I could leave without buying it, so I signed the paperwork and had it transported on the back of a truck (via Goodwood Festival) to me.
I spent the summer readying it for use, before putting a few thousand miles on it over August and September.
In October I managed to smash the rear windscreen, which put it off the road for quite some time. I got it back in service just in time to take on a Christmas trip to Cornwall, but now it's safely back in storage waiting for the road salt to go away.
I'm sure I'll think of some more to say but anyway, here are some pictures:

As a lover of XJ's, this is my ultimate Jeep.Thanks for the kind words guys.
I find it odd how many of these there are in NL. From photos I've found online, this lived alongside another one the same but red, and has had some attention from a Wagoneer specialist over there. Would I be correct to say that they also seem to like XJs (Cherokees) over there? When I was in Amsterdam a couple of years back I noticed a lot of pristine examples all with the web address cherokeeland.nl on their reg plates.
The pricing can be very variable indeed. I've seen many going for 3x what I paid which seemingly have just as many issued as this does, and I'm actually yet to see any that are anywhere near as good or uncommon as this one for nearly the same price.
Benny, that's how I started too. My Dad bought an XJ when I was 11 which I promptly developed an obsession with. Bought it off him as soon as I had my license and have daily driven it for the 6 years since.
I soon found out about these though and had to have one.
The rear window was indeed a royal PITA to locate and change. The replacement glass isn't in great shape and doesn't go up and down particularly well, but it'll do until I can afford to buy a NOS one in future.
I've also just looked up Twin Peaks and it would appear that one of these does appear in the 2017 version. I see these in loads of TV shows, and got very excited every time one drove past in Stranger Things.
I'll get a load more photos up later on. I've not got many interior shots but will get some when I'm actually home in the daylight!

At least XJs have stayed pretty cheap although good ones are getting harder to find. I've had five over the years and will no doubt get another. Is the Wagoneer much bigger than the XJ, it looks huge in the photos?!

A friend of mine recently picked up a lovely XJ for £1100, so it's still possible to get good ones. The prices of a lot of them do seem to be getting higher though.
The size is strange. Independently it looks massive. Side by side however it does look bigger, but not by a huge margin. I did the numbers a while back and it's not actually that much larger than my girlfriend's ZJ Grand Cherokee. The thing is though that it's much more boxy so fills its dimensions much more, if that makes sense.
Despite this though, it feels much, much bigger to drive. It fairly easily seats 6 adults and even on a big Christmas road trip the boot didn't break a sweat swallowing everything we could stuff in there!

You're right - this will never see any off road beyond a bumpy track. It's going to be slowly restored so I'm a bit fussy about it.
I used to off-road my Cherokee (which funnily enough is the car in The Goonies) but didn't like the damage and wear it caused, so I don't do much of that beyond the odd green lane these days.
