hey everyone, I've been away from the car scene for 5 + years but always been checking in to pistonheads, by chance as usual looking the car classifieds while in the pub, because that's where all men make the best decisions... I picked up a clean '74 w116 280se merc.

she's not without her problems but for a 43 year old milf she's good. AC, central locking are all vacuum driven and of course needs new lines, she has a bit of a smoking problem hopefully just replace/fix all the hoses, ignition and fuelling.
got a few bits here and there to fix and make right but other than that I kinda have an idea with the direction I want to go but I'm sure that'll change as I go, mostly wanna get the motor running sweet and get her bagged.

anyways heres some pics to start the adventure.

If I'm as down with the kids as my tweed jacket suggests I am (I'm really wearing a tweed jacket today! biglaugh), I believe "bagging" to be the practice of changing the suspension on a conventionally steel-sprung car to air suspension.

"De-bagging" is the opposite (people often do it with P38 Range Rovers, to get rid of the complexities and problems older air suspension systems throw up).

"Tea-bagging" is... Not for PH. hehe

ETA: Picture to prove that I am indeed wearing tweed today, and therefore VERY hip and groovy (as I believe all the kids are saying).

Ah thank you MorganP104 for the explanation.

I must complement you on your tweed - looks really sick bro.
