Porsche 911 - 997.2 C4S

Thought I'd start my own thread of my LHD/Gulf Spec 997.2 4S which I've recently imported into the UK from the UAE. (bit of a long post as I'm copying this from another forum)
I bought the car with around 24k miles on the clock (in 2016) and its now around 34k.
Spec is reasonable with black sports seats, PDK, extended leather, red stitching, red seat belts, sports chrono, sunroof, Bose etc, only thing really missing is the PSE. Finished in Atlas Grey.
Day I collected it:
Interior:
To liven things up on the noise front, I had a Sharkwerkz cross-over pipe shipped over to Dubai and fitted it myself. Rather easy with the moon-shaped spanner, but also the fact there was hardly any rust on the exhaust bolts:-
I then installed the sports steering wheel, again simple to do and I was happy to have proper paddles:
Time for a polish, seal and wax and clean the of the arches:
Engine mounts seemed a little tired, so I ordered an OEM pair and fitted them. Another easy job:
August 2017 I planned to relocate back to the UK. Not wanting to part with my 911, I shipped it back. I did all the work needed for the car to pass the IVA. This included swapping over the PCB in the rear clusters to get the fog light on the right side, flip the tab in each headlight for driving on the left in the UK and lastly configuring the speedo to MPH (easy peasy)
November 2017, the 911 was in the UK, IVA'd, taxed and ready to go. I collected it mid-Novemeber after not seeing it since August. Coolant was changed for cold spec stuff and a tracker was fitted. Also a OEM UK spec front plate plinth was fitted to remove the ugly Gulf spec one:
First UK drive up north and into the Yorkshire dales:
Granted, sitting on the left is strange at first, but after a good few drives its becoming second nature already.
Current plan so far is:
Geo at Center Gravity - DONE
Fit 7MM and 15MM spacers (at the time of the geo) - DONE
Fit winter tyres (I've bought some Nokan N rated ones) - DONE
Buy a roof transport system and ski rack. - DONE
Fit a new Bosch S5 battery. The current one is over 3 years old. As preventive maintenance, I've ordered one which i will fit this week. - DONE

My 911 has now been at Center Gravity (in November) I dropped down whilst the car was there to have a look and speak to the chaps who run the place. I'm rather impressed. They are mega passionate about Porsches and engineering around them. He was kind enough to make me a cuppa tea and said I could hang around whilst he went through the checks on my car. He really explained everything, this itself gives me trust in them. He took me for a test drive in the car and was really really thorough the way he tested it and the way moves around on the road and over bumps, cobbles etc.
The geo is out (which i kind of assumed) but also slight play in one of the inner track rods (which they will replace).
Also there was a lovely GT3 in there and I met the owner too, nice chap as well.

Collected the car from Center Gravity. Had full breakdown from Chris on what he'd done etc and off we went for a test drive. I have had the winter tyres fitted, but the car felt brilliant. So much more planted and sharper turn in.
Spacers were also fitted (better before and after pics to follow).
Also, I had a PDK mount insert fitted to reduce some of the transmission slack during shifts. (one of these for those interested: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/930413-diy-a...
and of course quick picture. The spacers make such a visual difference!
Here's the before and after pics with the 7mm and 15mm spacers fitted. Also note that the later pics are with the 295 section rear winter tyres (where the before pic is with the standard 305's).
Overall, I'm very pleased with the 7mm and 15mm setup. I probably would say you could go 10mm to 12mm on the front.

Since my car is a rust/ corrosion free example but had spent its entire life so far in abrasive sandy conditions it made sense to protect it from the salty UK roads (plus this awful damp climate we have here in Blighty). Investing in my investment as such. Yes I appreciate all 997's will have some underseal from the factory, but whether my Gulf spec car has the same level of cover compared to a normal EU spec car I am unsure. Either way, there no harm in adding more and covering the alloy components as well.
It had a full Dinitrol treatment (clear coat) at a approved Dinitrol center.

Headed to Slovakia over Xmas and NYE for a spot of skiing. Really impressed with how the 4S copes in the snow! 4500kms round trip in total, and some serious autobahn bashing was done. Loved it.
Spotted this photo that a local Slovak had posted on Instagram:
I've also had a Carnewal GT exhaust fitted by Gert in Belgium. I drove over there a few weeks ago for the day. The exhaust is nicely bedded in now and sounds brilliant. I will post up some vids shortly.
Other than that, I plan to pick up another set of wheels for summer use and fit some new PS4 rubber on them.
Oh and I have a full set of new discs and pads to fit (Sebro and Textar, OEM stuff). The front discs are almost down to the wear indicators. I will fit these in the next week or so (just waiting for the anit-vibration shims to arrive).

Great post and lovely looking car. Appreciate owners who take sure good care of their cars, I am sure whomever buys it after you will get one of the best looked after 911s out there.
I have a 981 Boxster at the moment, with PSE and a few goodies, I love it to pieces, however I ski a lot and am fed up with having to fly down there, having spent most of my life driving down there - perhaps nostalgia, but I am desperate to get back to it. As a result I find myself looking at 991 4S's and I am glad to see someone proving that they can be used in 'proper weather'.

New discs and pads all round for my 997.2 C4S yesterday. Happy to get my hands dirty and only took me about 1h45 mins for all 4 corners (beauty of rust free parts. Little nippy outside so had to wear my thermals however!

Just a small update:
Car is now on 36k miles, it had been in storage since January. I fitted a set of summer wheels (Carrera Classics) and with MPS4 tyres all round, leaving the winter tyres of the other rims. Wheel design is each to their own, I like the simplicity and they're far easier to clean! Also had it's annual service done too.
Treated the car to a good detail last week prior to driving over to Prague last weekend. Took me a few hours, but I did a few steps:

Sealant
2 x layers of wax
Really loving the way Atlas Grey pops in the sun, you can even see the subtle blue flakes in the paint.
