OMG - we've bought a Hybrid! And already love it!

My wife picked up "her" rather lovely C-HR Ltd Edition on Wednesday.
It replaced her GT86 after less than 2 years / 13.5k.
She craved practically & was using my Fiat Panda Cross more & more. A great car but not hers or really to her liking.
I saw the C-HR at Geneva a couple of years back, before you could see the interior. I loved it & had it pegged as my favourite affordable car of the show.
I saw it at the UK launch but was a bit disappointed with the engine / transmission options as I wanted it to replace my rugged Panda.
I'm glad I held off as the Hybrid is quite superb. We're both quite smitten already.
Slightly worried about the reported windscreen issue though.....
My wife having this as the practical car means I get to choose the car for the performance side of the drive.
Hence, brand new Abarth 595 180 bhp on order to replace my much loved Panda.
It'll join the C-HR, our classic Alfa Spider & my little Abarth Seicento toy.
The dealer (FRF Toyota in Swansea) have been brilliant.

Not sure how it's a replacement for a GT86 if you see what I mean.
The interior also looks good. Love the fact it's a hybrid, too. Sounds like a great car for commuting.
Still wouldn't replace the GT86 with one, though!

The GT86 replacement will by the 180 bhp performance packed Abarth 595.
It's just that I've had the practical car for the last 2 years & Mrs has had the Sportscar.
Bit of a swap but in reality, we take whichever suits on the day

Whoever gets out the door more quickly wins, I guess - and judging by the faffing thread, I guess you will be taking the sporty vehicle most days.

I didn't think & really didn't want to like the Hybrid but I like it. Whoever gets out the door more quickly wins, I guess - and judging by the faffing thread, I guess you will be taking the sporty vehicle most days. I reckon the split may we'll favour it & the 595 will be the fun car.
My Mrs works from home 90% of the time so we seldom fight over cars
Over the last few years I have had the (dis)pleasure of driving a lot of standard rental cars. Everything from budget superminis to large non-premium cars.
The C-HR is far and above my favourite car in the budget friendly Hertz fleet. Mine had the standard 1.2 turbo-petrol (rather than the hybrid), but I was genuinely sad to see it go after 3 weeks of use.
I'll hand my PH card in at the door...

A colleague of mine has just bought a hybrid Hyundai, and kindly let me have a drive. It was lovely. Compared to my noisy old Saab it was like sitting in a sensory deprivation tank; so quiet and relaxing.. an excellent tonic after driving a noisy old land barge. 85 mpg is hard to argue with as well.
