So I've had my 911 for around 15 months now, after I bought it after wanting one since I was about 12 <3
I actually bought it by accident - I was looking for a new car, the only brief was the best balance of power/weight I could find, something a bit unusual, and something that excited me..
I went to take home a dodge viper, and there were a few complications. Went for a spin in an M6 and almost signed on the line then took this for a spin not expecting to buy it but I fell in love with her and the rest is history! Although I miss the out and out acceleration of the m6 and viper, the sheer dynamics of the porsche make up for it in spades (not that it's a slouch with the added power and weight etc)
I noticed from afar it had a couple of mods and it turned out to be well looked after
It started life as a regular 3.4 Carrera in a similar spec to the Japanese 'Power Cup' model. Factory spec included the three spoke wheel, some interior carbon and suede headliner and at around 60,000 miles it's still in good nick inside.
Then it was also specced with the x51 power pack (supposedly developed in tangent to the GT3 as a backup for failed homologation) which gave it an additional radiator up front, swirl Pistons, revised heads, machined and polished inlet and exhaust ducts, optimised manifolds, redline raised, additional oil pump and oil extraction hoses to cylinders 4-6 to stop things from leaning out. Also came with high lift valves, larger lift camshaft and a few other bits.
Apparently a $18k option from the factory! :/
The GT3 front end also was specced from factory. Then the old owner got on to Gemballa in Sydney to make a few more tweaks:
Gemballa exhaust system
Sideskirts and rear spoiler
Coilover setup
Gemballa/speedline alloys
Intake and Tune
Deep Sump - Very deep as you can see below! In fact a speed hump at a DIY store cracked it around the plug - cue litres of oil all over the car park and me never using it for anything other than fun ever again!
The end result is that it feels so much more alive than the standard Carrera. Feels very sharp on the turn in, ride is as stiff as my old Z4M but without being crashy at all and gives such amazing levels feedback! From about 5k it goes mental and the exhaust wail is amazing. Surprisingly practical too, I don't travel heavy but could easily manage a few days away.
Only mods I've done since has been the plates as I've been too busy driving it and grinning ear to ear.

The 'frunk' is pretty spacious considering - managed to fit two vehicle dollies in there and had space for another on top

I'll be potentially trading her in later in the year for something equally as yellow, but before then have some alpine X-type two way speakers, gt3 wheel to install and will be adding Gemballa seats and possibly a carbon bonnet to install. Toyed with Turbocharging it but I love the simple N/A charm with the laser like throttle response.
Have already had some great road trips exploring country roads in it (including one instance where a kangaroo decided to hop out in front of me which was a good test for the brakes!)
Just recently gave her a detail and was pleasantly surprised at the results given the colour
Sometimes you stumble upon a car, you know you could have gotten newer, more exotic, faster etc.. but for some reason you just don't care!
