My Mitsubishi Evolution IX FQ320
Discussion
Hello all this is my first ever thread on pistonheads and I hope you like it.
I got into cars at a early age, I started off with a little Ford Fiesta as my first ever car and loved being out on the open road, as I got older and went to more and more car related things and shows I wanted a car with more power, I came across a Nissan 200sx S14a in red which I fell in love with, it was very clean and the car did attract a lot of attention when I was ever out driving about in it. Here is a picture of it :

It won me a couple of trophies and cleaning gear at a couple events I entered it into for show and shine so was really chuffed with the car.
Where I worked at the time which was Mitsubishi I really wanted a Evo IX ever since I saw one and went out in one but I could not get insured on one for a sensible price so I kept the Nissan for around 5 years and then the time was right to get my dream car I always wanted.
I found the car on pistonheads advertised by whynford motors up in Birmingham, really nice people and they could also accept my Nissan as a part exchange so I took a drive up there and met the guys there. The cars were all locked up and when he opened the shutter I saw the one I had come to view and I just knew it was the right car for me.
It is a FQ320 GSR in blue which I later found out is quite a rare colour as I have met a few guys and girls with Evos and most of them are white silver or grey which is nice for me.
Anyway here is the car and I will update this thread later on with what I have done to it already, I have owned the car 2years now and it's been fantastic and I use it everyday

Thank you for looking and I'll get some more pictures and updates up later about the car

S14 looks great, wheels, ride height, but not spoilt with a silly bodykit.
Since the Evo X was widely regarded as a failure, I guess the IX could be the best Evo ever? Colour looks good, I agree it makes a nice change from all the white/silver/black non-colours. You could get a set of gold wheels to troll the Subie drivers

Any mods?

Thanks mate, if I could of I would of loved to keep both the cars as the 200SX was cool to drive. Since the Evo X was widely regarded as a failure, I guess the IX could be the best Evo ever? I love all the Evos but the IX is my favourite as we had one for sale at our garage and it was awesome to drive and I just love the look of them with all the carbon bits fitted etc
I do have new wheels coming for the car hopefully next week so there will be more pictures coming and there not Gold lol

Running costs compared to an E46 M3?
Can it be used as a daily? Oil change intervals, service intervals..
I have heard some crazy stories..
Can't really comment for the M3 as I've never owned one but what I will say is I don't earn a lot of money Can it be used as a daily? Oil change intervals, service intervals..
I have heard some crazy stories..

I use this car as my everyday car and I also have a child so it's been perfect for everyday things so to anyone out there scared of buying one and using them everyday don't be, they are absolutely fine as long as you do the oil changes when they are supposed to be done then you'll be fine. Engine oil change intervals are every 4,500k miles which normally cost me about £30 oil and oil filter. The only expensive oil I've had changed is the AYC and ACD oil which can only be done by dealer as it requires a computer to bleed the diffs which set me back around £150 but that doesn't have to be done to often.
They are brilliant cars to drive and a lot of people leave you alone on the road so that's the nice bit

Looks suspiciously standard. Thats why its half reliable.
I forgot to say yes this car is completely standard FQ320, it's fast enough for me so I don't see any need to go mental with power, I've seen my friends cars break etc were they are chasing power etc and I just want reliability and fun and it's very safe too in all weather. Swampy1982 said:
Lovely car by the way, and looks like you have some decent camera equipment to take pictures with.
I know I am going to sound like an old man on facebook, but do you have any dirty pictures?
I always thought these cars look best filthy!
Thank you and yes I do photography in my spare time as a hobby and I shoot with a Canon 5D MKIII and a few lenses etc I know I am going to sound like an old man on facebook, but do you have any dirty pictures?

Haha yes I know what you mean, I have some before and after photos which I took the other day as the roads have been terrible lately, this was around three weeks without a clean and then washed after

Hope that helps
