Hi all,
Thought I'd introduce my Cayman R that I picked up at the end of August. It was really well prepared by SP Autobahn in Stirling and these are the photos they took:
As you can see it's a pretty decent spec; Boxster Spyder wheels, carbon buckets, Sports Chrono and PSE. Happy days!

Since getting it back home (to the garage that suddenly seems a lot smaller than when the Caterham was in it!) I've had a few blasts around Aberdeenshire including a lovely drive over the Old Military Road with an obligatory photo stop at the Cairn O'Mount viewpoint:
I've also managed to combine my hobbies (part of the man-maths in the trade up from the Seven) and stuck the bikes on the roof - drew quite a few looks in the car park at the Nevis range but it was a great drive over there via Pitlochry:
No real plans for any upgrades, just lots of super unleaded and probably some winter tyres so that I can keep it going through the colder months and perhaps bung the snowboards on the roof for some adventures out to The Lecht, Glenshee and Cairngorm once the snow comes in :-).

Lovely looking car and dare I say more individual looking than the latest Cayman. Sometimes when I see photos of mk2 cayman and 991 from the side/rear I think at first they look so similar.
Cheers! I'm a big fan of the way this one looks despite the colour being a bit marmite, I think it's the spoiler and the black wheels.I do really like the GT4 (and the GTS for that matter) but the budget was pretty stretched already so it'll be a few years before those are on the cards!
The colour is very marmite... (I like vegemite for what it's worth) but I love love love the car. I imagine a lairy rear-driver in Scotland would be hilarious fun for most of the year. Respect for the bike transport, I did much the same with my M3; it transforms how you holiday when you have roof racks.

How is it going round bends with the bikes on top? Additional flex?
Yep, the door handles are a bit of a gimmick (and confusing to first time passengers!) but it's kinda fun.How is it going round bends with the bikes on top? Additional flex?
It's pretty decent actually, the bars are Thule and mounted very solidly but I do take it a bit easier than normal with the bikes up there. Nice and easy to load them too given how close to the ground the car is!
t! One of my favourite cars in the perfect spec and with cool mountain bikes on the roof. All boxes ticked.
