Just cleaned the Corvette & the Porsche, both pretty special in their own right. The Corvette hitting 20 years old next year, the Porsche considerably younger & very under rated in my opinion.

Corvette - 5.7 litre V8 top speed 175mph Black with Firethorn red interior & Magnesium wheels.

Porsche - 3.6 litre V6 top speed 141 mph Dark Olive Green with Black leather interior & Porsche 21'' GTS alloys.

False advertising was thinking this was gonna be a picture of a plane. Nice fleet though

My 8 cilinder petrol/diesel RenAlfa Mega 147 agrees, it has ~240 mph top speed, but that is because it is only semi-turbo-ed

Got a real soft spot for those Porsches - interior shot?

And the 'Vette in Britain? Any stories there?

I have owned her since 2001 (I had a 1975 model before this one). As it has been said Corvette's are fantastic cars with stunning performance, great value for money & a good club scene. This car is one of the first of the 'C5' shape (model) being a 1997 & was originally shipped from the States to Germany to act as their press car for the release of the new C5 model, which GM intended to start selling for the first time directly in Europe. Once the Germans had finished with her, she was shipped to the UK & registered with Vauxhall Luton before being sold on a few times in quick succession. I bought her from Claremont Corvette in 2001 part exchanging my 1975. Since then she has made around 14 trips to le Mans & has completed 11 track laps of the full 8.5 mile closed circuit with the French Corvette Club, all without missing a beat.

Not been out in her at all this year, only about the 2nd time she's been dragged out of the garage for a wash. Had a few personal issues to deal with so far this year, but will hopefully be back on track in the very near future. I guess I'll have to floor it as I go past the Coach & Horses next time I'm heading for the North Cray Road lol.

Au contraire, the Corvette has a targa roof that stores neatly in the boot (trunk) lol.
