My BMW Z4M Ownership Experience so Far (One month in!)

Thought it was about time I made one of these, as I've had my Z4M for about a month now and done around 700 miles or so in it. Originally I had bought it for a client, however when they backed out (SWMBO issues or somesuch), I thought it keep it for myself!
I'm lucky in that I have a (remapped to ~ 370bhp) Golf R as my daily and so the M tends to sit around waiting for the weekend - although that does make it more special when I do get in it!
Key Specs + options are; Black Saphire Exterior, Imola Red Leather Interior, Heated Seats/Wind Deflector (Why are these not standard on a £43k car?!), Rear Parking Sensors (Sitting basically on the rear wheels makes you wish they had optioned these at the front instead) and a 6 CD Changer.
Heres how it started;
With the daily;
First order of the day was to change the aerial from a large whipping cane that threatend to blind anybody I drove past for a short stubby;
Next Needed to give the roof a good once over - it wasn't all that bad all things considered, but it had some markings and a bird decided to make my mind up for me - so the roof shampoo was out;

After;
Next order of the day - the wheels needed a refurb so I thought about a colour change whilst they were getting sorted - I kept coming back to an amazing image of shadow chrome on a Red Z4, and I figured it should work well with the Black exterior. I was a bit worried going to collect the car about how it was going to look as it was going to be pressed into service 2 days later as a friends car at his wedding to drive his bride away!! Luckily it worked out quite well I think;
Finally I thought a set of exhaust tips from the ZForum would set the (stock) exhaust off nicely;
This also afforded me and my brother to wander through the cotsolds at a "reasonable" pace exploring, it would have been rude not too!
Having had a chance to open it up now properly - the S54 engine really is the centrepiece of this car - it just keeps going and going, delivering a much more visceral experience then the Golf. The driving position is spot on, although I wish the seats where a bit more supportive for when it really gets twisty.

So thats me one month in! Next I'm planning on touching up and getting the bodywork detailed as theres a few scuffs and bumps around, aside from the usual stonechips etc. Thanks for reading

That is a really, really good combination of cars
Bloody excellent, as fast as the digital turbo 300bhp 4wd hatch is, you can't compare it with the small rwd straight six convertible coupled with one of the best n/a engines of the past few decades

It's not quite my kind of thing, in the way my Lotus is, but I couldn't bear to part with my late wife's Z4M. So I am keeping it for now at least and have been driving it quite often. It's the same colour as yours, with the extended leather interior. It's a magnificent engine, and a comfortable and decently equipped car. She had good taste, my Mrs 
Thanks for the kind words chaps - whenever the weather is great and I find myself in the Golf - I do wish it came with a poser roof as well!!

Having owned a Z4C, I can't escape the calling for me to upgrade to one of these ASAP.
Get it done fella - can't see these dropping much further in value, they may not appreciate as well as the Z3M's, but they should provide for some fairly depreciation proof fun - thats the man maths that justified it for me anyway Having owned a Z4C, I can't escape the calling for me to upgrade to one of these ASAP.
