Norfolk Mustard Yellow has to be one of the great Lotus colours too. Hope you got a good deal at the auction.
Thanks. I always wanted an Azure blue one with cream leather, but really pleased with the yellow! It wasn't as cheap as I'd hoped, but was willing to pay strong to bag a good, well looked after example. They really are fantastic cars! I've also always wanted a S1 Elise, I'll have one someday. Looks like you got a good one!

Yeah the Azure blue looks good too, I had my MG Midget painted a similar colour. That titanium/gunmetally sort of colour looks great with red leather too, but I'dprobably go for Norfolk Mustard, pretty much the signature colour!
I think the only thing I would change about this is adding some headlight cowls. I'm a sucker for a cowled headlight, me.
Off to the classifieds again... Can I justify owning 3x British 2 seaters and no 'sensible' cars?

Yeah the headlight cowls would finish it off, but I think it could end up being a dust / insect trap, and look unsightly. I would like to change the front indicators back to the original Amber, to give it a bit more 'character'. I think the only thing I would change about this is adding some headlight cowls. Hi, thanks very much. Yes, you're so right, I've seen a few pop up at BCA and Manheim, and they are usually very tired, with sketchy history at best! Of course, you do naturally think, why is it here, but in this case, think it's just a genuine main dealer part exchange which they wouldn't retail. That looks really good, I actually went the other way to you - swapped an S1 Elise for a mk1 MX5, largely because the Lotus hood was such a pain and I didn't have a garage.
The wheels on yours are the standard ones it left the factory with, the later S1 had those rims, the earlier ones had the split 5 spokes. Mine was also a 99 T plate and I fitted the S2 Billies too, but metallic red with cream leather, I had it for almost three years before selling it to a Dutch guy who was going to convert it to LHD.
Enjoy it, I still miss mine actually, and am a little annoyed at selling at the bottom of the market!
