Dear Members,

I would like to hear from any members who may be able to assist me in my hour of need against Jaguar.

My dilemma started some 13 days ago when my precious XK8 Cab stalled on me on a short journey home. When I got the car home I waited for the engine to cool and checked the oil, to my horror the level on the dipstick was very low. However, at no point did my car advise me that either the oil pressure was low / or had dropped. I would of thought that either the oil gauge on the dash would of reduced or alternatively a warning LCD message would of flagged up on the car's on-board computer? I would be grateful if any members could best advise me of what the XK8 should of done, as I am perplexed as to why no warning was given.

To add insult to injury is Jaguar Warranty's refusal to find any fault with the car and thus resulting in a blown engine. However, I am livid and cannot believe that a car of this ilk, would not of had some form of warning system.

The car is under warranty (a 12-month warranty purchased with my car).

After lengthy discussions with my Jaguar garage's Service Manager, who is perplexed with Jaguar Warranty's attitude I have now been told I have to highlight my problem in writing to them directly!

I bought my car in February 2004 with 26,000 miles and I have added a mere 4,000 miles within a 12-month period. Before purchasing the car, Jaguar carried out a major service.

If any members could give me advice or just plain common-sense with regards to my car or predicament I would be only to happy to receive their comments.

Thanking any members in anticipation!
