Morning everyone,

Thought I would share with you all a nice little pre summer bargain (in my eyes) that I picked up earlier this week.

It is nothing too exciting, but after a few days of driving it I am really enjoying it.

It is a 2000 Toyota Mr2 MK3 1.8, with 110,000 miles, accompanied with full service history!

Previous owner has spent a little bit of money of it with a stainless steel exhaust, colour coded hard top, team dynamics alloys (although not my taste so will be changing) & rear spoiler.

The car is in excellent condition for the age & after a trip up to the horse shoe pass yesterday I am really enjoying the car!

Havent had chance to get many decent pics so these will have to do for now.

Plans are to lower it 30mm all round, change the alloys and tyres (as it has budget on at the moment and it is a little twitchy!), change the interior for the leather seats, maybe induction kit as I have read they make a nice noise, and then just enjoy it for the summer!

Will keep the thread updated. Thanks for reading smile

Perhaps the OP should invest in a zoom lens?

Nice car OP, I don't know what you mean by 'nothing too exciting'. Supposedly they're great handling cars.

Looks good! Considering one of these as a second car at the moment so interested to hear how you get on with it!

These are great cars, but I may be biased - the Horseshoe Pass was one of the first trips I did in mine too:

Is the stainless exhaust a full system? Or just cat back? The pre-cats can be troublesome on the earlier cars.

Love these, might pick one up in a few years as a toy. Very cheap for what is quite a focused car.

Absolute bargain. Interested to know if they start burning oil at that mileage?

true PH car.
silly (little) money for what it is and can do.
At these prices they should be finding their way into people's garages as keepers.

Check the rear cross member on the early cars which most of the rear suspension is bolted to.

They tend to rust below the exhaust and start to rot right through.

I've noticed these aren't getting much at the mo'.

Do these have the same 1.8 as the Celica?, if so do they suffer the same oil burning issues?
How much hassle would it be to make a 190bhp VVTLi version?

Nice car OP looks nice with the hard top too

I've just agreed on a deal for one, albeit a *mint* facelift with some neat bits, for £3.4k...

Great little cars about time they got more of a following.

Tyres are one of the key things on these you need really good tyres on the rear something like Bridgestone or Yokohama's with a stiff sidewall avoid cheapo tyres.

Nice cars these. Maybe an engine from the Celica 190 would be a straight fit? Or just turbo the current one?
