Clubman cooper S
Discussion
We've had the mini for a while now, but haven't posted anything so thought I should.
got it to replace the V8 Touareg, as I'm now commuting every day and 17mpg wasn't good. the mini does 37mpg regardless of how you drive
I thought it'd be fun 175bhp and 1200kgs... it is!
its terrier like handling and turbo punch are infectious. my commute at the moment is along some lanes, which suits it, and its compact dimensions mean you can make progress where wider cars have to slow for oncoming traffic.
Why a clubman rather than a hatch?
the other car is an A6 avant, but often need to take the dog somewhere (a Lurcher), he wouldn't fit in a hatch, and not keen on dogs on the back seat. I also think that the clubman has more charter, quirky than any other hot hatch. having been under an abused mk1 BMW mini, (&the e36) I know they are much better engineered than the VAG stuff.
the new clubman, has grown to the point it just looks like a normal car.
the suicide door helps access to the rear, but also means you get trapped between the two doors in a parking space, not ideal
the only problem is being in a 'fast' petrol car again makes we want a 'faster' one...
anyone else with some clubman love?
its an 08 cooperS turbo
originally a BMW Park Lane car, so has just about every option
