1989 VW Jetta TX 22k miles.....

This is the complete opposite of my other thread (VW Golf VR6). The Jetta is total original just as it left the Volkswagen showroom!!! I'll start off with a couple of photos in the Volkswagen dealership........





The car was first registered as a mobility car to an English chap who purchased it after the deal was up. Unfortunately he passed away leaving the car hidden in a lock up. When the car was pulled out by a family member it was covered in dust, no idea how long it was there?!?!? It was sold on to his uncle then to a garage before being brought up to Scotland where it was brought back to life! I have the paperwork from the supplying dealer that matches the plates, tax disc holder, window stickers and even the brown paper floor mats!!!!!!






All over the car is small spots of yellow paint that I've been told were put there when the car was PDI'd from new?!?!?





Every area of the car is as good as new, the boot, engine bay, interior.......
















I have just purchase a set of 15' VW Passat Steelies (G60) that are getting powder coated and I think it needs lowered on coil overs just to close off the arch gap?!?!? That will be it as I don't want to ruin the originality of this ugly duckling!

My dad had a C reg Jetta, just the base CL, and it had such a huge boot and was very rare compared with the golf

Leave it as it is, there are plenty of scened-up Jettas, but this one has escaped both modifications and the ravages of time and deserves to be preserved and enjoyed as a car like no other.

Very true, if your doing an engine transplant, then best make it 4wd, the floor will need hacking apart, but no problem.

thanks for the post.... i had one as my car in Uni... the 1.8L 8V CLX model... good amount of torque; the old girl could keep up with the new 1.3l fuel injected corsas/clios 2 decades younger

Imo I think it makes a vehicle look better, just want the arch gap reduced
