BMW 330d touring m sport (e91)

After being on the hunt for several months, I've finally managed to find my ideal car (for my current situation! ie driving 20k per year and having a 6 month old son) and all being well I'll be picking it up in a couple of weeks.
After owning my e46 330d for a couple of years I liked pretty much everything about it apart from the unresponsive, unreliable, power sapping, and uneconomical auto gearbox. I fairly quickly came to the conclusion that my ideal car was a manual e90 version.
Anyone who has looked into these cars will know how rare and sought after the manual versions are, and if you combine this with the m sport version I wanted, then the words rocking horse and s
t spring to mind! To make the hunt even harder, I specifically wanted one with xenons and that wasn't silver. This one popped on autotrader this week and I've stuck a deposit down without seeing it (it's a 5 hour drive away) as it sounds like an absolute gem and these tend to sell within hours.

The only negative is the wood trim, but that is easily changed to something that fits in a little better with the car.
Other than the interior trim, the only other things I hope to do when finances allow is to remap it and replace the rear lights with the 'darkline' version (indicator and reversing light smoked).

I've lived with an auto for the last two years and it drives me potty - regularly in the wrong gear, slow to change gear, kicks down rather than using the ample torque available, 5+ mpg less than the manual equivalent, I could go on... It's good bmw gave people the choice of gearbox so everyone is happy

It's good bmw gave people the choice of gearbox so everyone is happy I've still got the silver/aluminium trim that came out of my E91 330d M-Sport (same colour as well!) when I replaced it with the BMW carbon option.
Pretty sure it's still boxed up in the garage, had a few marks on the front driver + passenger side that would have been caused by zips etc from jackets but from memory other than that they're all good.

Love it, I think it looks particularly subtle. And I admire your choice on gearbox. But please, please keep the wood!
This generation of cars was one of the last before anything with M-Sport/ AMG-Line/ S-Line had to have lashings of fake carbon fibre. Even the Toyota Rav4 has it. It introduces a bizarre element of class to the car and I love it.

Nice spec and looks a good one, I am also in the camp that this engine suits an auto better and with a diesel manual you are cog swapping lots but with not much reward and the auto keeps the car in a sweet spot with the torque I think.

I'm surprised at all the love for the wood! I'll see if I change my mind when I see it in the flesh, but the current plan is to either carbon wrap or spray it for piano black, and if my diy turns out poorly (never tried either before), then I'll buy a replacement set and will have lost little.

we have an E91 325i in the sparkling graphite with lemon leather and... the wood! It came with aluminium, which i thought clashed with the leather and looked low rent. The walnut has taken it up a few notches. I can't believe it will look better with that easy to scratch aluminium!
Great cars. Ours is a touch small with two kids and occasional parent in law to ship around, but it's a good all rounder. We have a manual which I now wish was an auto- such is driving in london. I could also swap the m sport suspension for Koni FSD as my alpina now wears, that's the only other issue i have with it, the ride. Oh, and the non heated but full electric seats?!

I'm just trying to sell mine now, but don't really want to lol. Having had a third child, we have out grown the car now.
Loved it however, very flexible, fast enough, comfortable and well specced. Mine will be sorely missed when it finally goes.

I have exactly the same, a manual E91 330d M Sport and LOVE it!
I too spent ages trying to find the right one, and ended up with a rare colour I love, heated seats, idrive, bluetooth, Hifi sound system. xenons and various other options.
Ive done some choice mods, Eibach springs, remap, CSL style wheels, non runflats, Darkline rear lights, LED interior lights, angel eyes LED upgraded, 2012 spec CIC idrive with Combox, iPod/usb connection, LCI M Sport leather, and various coding options.
Ive got LCI roof bars waiting to be sprayed black and an FCM2 module that allows angel eyes DLR's and welcome lights, just need to get it fitted and coded.
There are tons of mods, retrofits and bits you can change on these cars to make them even better!

I also have a full set (dash, centre console and doors) of the smooth grey plastic trim sat in my garage that was removed when I got the new idrive fitted with brush aluminium trim.
I tried to sell it but had no interest, so if you're ever in Northamptonshire you would be welcome to have it for free
It takes about 30 mins or less to swap the whole lot, then you could either spray it another colour or just remove the wood until you sell it on.
