Clio 172?

I have just decided to buy a w/x plate 172, is there any particular faults/ pitfalls i should look out for with this car? (Im hoping the thread i read earlier about them bursting into flames was a somewhat isolated incident) Any info from current and prospective owners gratefully received.

My Aug 2001 Y reg is for sale. High milage, so prob the cheapest around at £3995. it's advertised on Cliosport, and am putting it on Autotrader now.
