Colt Ralliart

After 3 fun and reliable years with my Suzuki Ignis Sport i've treated myself to a new car.

Wanted something a bit more comfortable, decent on fuel, reliable and and preferably a fast-ish turbo.

There wasn't many options to be honest and I'm very fussy and need something insurable being 22, i didn't want anything french, nearly went for a 207 1.6 Turbo XS but then looked at the reliability record of the engine so it ended up between the Swift Sport and this, the Colt ticked more boxes for me while i know I'd be happy with the Swift it would probably be quite similar to the Ignis.

Very happy with it so far, reviews said it was rough over bumps but clearly they haven't driven an Ignis Sport, the Colt rides like a Mercedes in comparison.
Engine is really punchy, need to blast it down a country road and test the handling when it's drier... so that will be next April by the looks of it...

Great little cars these. I nearly bought one before deciding I wanted something bigger and going for a Golf GTI. I was really impressed by the interior space, standard cruise control and grunty little engine, it blows its immediate competition out of the water for accessible performance.

looks a great little car. someone i know of has one and they look great in the flesh (his is white). don't see many of these in the wild.

i find myself drawn to a swift sport but id like the newer 6spd one when funds allow but these may also be on my list when funds allow it.

Nice car, same engine in my Smart. A fair bit more power can be released from these pretty easily.

Like yourself my next car was between a 207 gti/ Suzuki Swift Sport/ Colt Ralliart. I also researched the 207 gti and saw timing problems galore so I skipped that which is a shame because IMO inside and out the 207 was really nice. Love the front end of the colt, but prefer the 3 door rear end, and I couldn't gel with the interior, so bought a SSS, just wish the ride was a bit more forgiving!

Isn't the colt something like 7.6s to 60? I'll bet you'll alarm a few people off the lights!

ForFour brabus? yeah really like them, much nicer inside aren't they? , they wouldn't insure me on it though

Yeah 7.6 for the 5dr, 7.4 for the 3dr, i think it does look quite discrete and not particularly sporty to non petrolheads.

I found the same problem with the Peugeot and thought it wasn't worth the risk, is a shame though, very nice inside like you say.

Yeah has a good balance of fun and comfort i think.
It seems like it's slap bang in the middle between cars like the Swift Sport/Twingo Renaulsport etc and proper hot hatches like Clio RS, Corsa VXR etc, priced like a junior hot hatch and cheap to insure with performance not far off regular small hot hatches.

That's the one. I have leather Colt CZT seats in mine, they have better bolsters on them. Surprised to hear they wouldn't insure you on one when they are largely the same car.

Is quite odd, this car cost less to insure than the Ignis did

Hi all.. we have a colt ralliart there are great fun to drive nippy with 147bhp . Handling is good .. some people think it's a 1.1 but there never know what's under the bonnet

My other half has an Ignis Sport as her daily for the past 3 years and we are looking into upgrading as well. Test driven Alfa Mito 155 and this. The colt is by far the better drivers car but the Alfa is by far the prettier. That said I know how tuneable these engine are (190ish is very simple). That puts it on par with a Fiesta ST for half the price!

Will be looking for a 3 door version in the coming year as we are putting 15k a year on the Ignis at the moment!
