My Reliant Regal SuperVan III

Have had it for years now & never got round to posting up pictures. Kicking around at my parents on Boxing day gave me the perfect opportunity to take a few picures.

It's a 1972 Reliant Regal Supervan III '21E' - which is basically the Del-Boy van, but with 21 "Extra's", such as hub caps, a heater & mud-flaps!

As a car it's shockingly bad to drive compared to a modern, but it has a character that is just unbeatable - if you're in no hurry to get anywhere it's just so much fun to drive around country lanes and villages.

I did have it in London for a while & I've never seen a car attract so much attention - people were even running into the road to take pictures

I'll probably be in the minority here but I strangely like these. I'm just up the road from Castle Hill Garage in New Buckenham who claim to be the largest specialists of Reliants in the UK.

Thanks for the comments all - I get the fact that it's a shed, but I've always been a fan of OFAH and just couldn't resist getting a van when it came up for sale locally (in blue when it first arrived)

I had one of these! (well, mine was a saloon.) It was also a '72 on a K reg. It was pretty quick actually, for a car with
27bhp.

What I really liked about it was that you could feel through the pedal when the pads met drums and then just squeeze to brake. So much more feel than anything I have driven since. The gearchange was also riflebolt precise in action.

It served as transport for me and three mates when on pub crawls and could be bump started within a parking space when the starter failed to work.

I used to buy my parts from Watson and Cairns, lower Brigate, Leeds. Happy days!
