Just got a little clio yesterday it had been in for a service and they'd fitted new brake pads. But when I was driving it last night it made abit of a rumbling noise when stopping and the pedal vibrated alot. Anyone know what could be wrong with it. Tis in the garrage at the mo.

Thanks

Could be anything really. Discs, pads, or just the caliper not put on right. Sometimes the pad is quite thick, and the caliper has trouble accomodating it, especially if its an old caliper...

Could also be that the disk has dislodged slightly during the pad change and a piece if grit is trapped between the disk and hub - result is the disk isn't running true and rubs the pads alternately, then under pressure the wobble in the disk makes the pedal vibrate.

Easy to fix - but a lot of garages will diagnose a warped disk and charge you for that - of course when they clean the hub and put the new disk on it's fine... but if they had put the old disk back properly that would have been ok too!

If it wasn't vibrating before the pad change it's unlikely that there is anything wrong with the disks themselves now.
