Thoughts on an RS6
Discussion
Circumstances (no parking due to house rebuild) meant saying goodbye to Porsche 911 Turbo and BMW 5 tourer and replacing with a compromise to do both.
Hence Audi RS6 Avant.
Thought I'd share some thoughts, as I'd have been interested to read the same before I bought!
Keeping it simple:
Against:
Not as quick as they say. Although it's very swift, it needs tuning to put it in proper supercar territory. (In hand - 510 bhp on its way). Having said that, as a regular drive it's fine, and will overtake most with ease.
Auto is too violent in 'kickdown'.
Sat Nav isn't a patch on BMW or Porsche - way too slow to calculate or keep up. Not that bright.
For:
Very surprised with the Moses effect. Cars get out of the way as much as they did with the porker. I'm guessing black might be a factor.
The 'electronics free' approach to dampers is just astonishing. It's way more comfortable over most surfaces than the BMW at speed. Clever gits.
Interior quality/leather/switches/finish = 10/10
Tiptronic 'manual' is as good as you'll find.
What a great sound! - which will (I'm told) even improve with tuning.
Overall, It's a great car as a daily drive. Practical and in the real world as quick point to point as M3 E46's and 996's.... but NOT quicker than turbos!
... but then It can carry 5 bods and a dog.
End of story: I've put in an order for the new one.

I've had the MTM chip on my RS6 Avant, far better increase in performance than an extra 50bhp on a heavy car would suggest and a great induction roar. The more miles you do the greater the appreciation of the car becomes. I've done 30000 miles in 14 months and find it a great daily driver.
