Hi all, here's "Minty" my 1956 Austin Healey 100 BN2. I've owned him for close to 15 years now, bought it as a wreck for about £1,500 from New York, shipped it to Australia where I was living, and finally got it to the UK a couple of years ago. I hope he should be completed in around six months. Unfortunately I'm not getting to work on this myself but still having fun being involved with the whole piece in a small way.

Before:

and almost after:

I've gone very retro looking with the colour scheme, and pretty American. I love the colour combo but it's certainly marmite! It will have black leather inside piped to match the exterior colour of Florida Green (an original colour). As much of the car is being kept original as possible. It had to have a new chassis but most of the superstructure is original. Original wheels. Engine and every mechanical component has been rebuilt and kept as original as possible.

Will look a bit like this when done.

Ben at Finish First has done the entire resto for me from beginning to end. More pics here http://www.finish-first.co.uk/index.php in the galleries where you can see all the sheet metal work. This has taken nearly all the time as it's like building a new car all over again.

I wish I could get more stuck into it myself but no space and no time unfortunately! Anyway there is no way I could get that sort of result so it's worth it from my point of view. Will never sell the car as it's a keeper.

I'm glad I bought the car when I did as they are worth putting the time and money into these days.

Wow. Just wow....

I don't see how anyone can disagree with the colour, firstly it's a factory colour and secondly it is a very 1950's colour, and the black wires with white walls set it off just perfectly.

I don't know a huge amount about it except that it's a genuine batmobile CSL, period race car. Very cool. They have some incredible stuff going through. My favorite was a 275 GTB they did for a customer, gobsmackingly awesome think I left drool marks on it! On the flip side they do quite a few Minis and Escorts all to the same standard.
