Oh come on chaps you are being so unfair...
Having owned a toyota 1000 in my dim and distant past, (it was on a 's' plate), what a agreat motor it was. Ok so there was nothing actually holding the passenger seat to the floor. No problem: drop it in 1st,accelerate hard, passenger in back seat, they thought it was power at least...
An honest story though... I challenged my Old Man to a 'burn' one day on a 20 mile country lane thrash. Him in his 2.8 Grandad, me in my old Toyota 'Thou', (He was a gold roof on the oval circuit at the time), and yes I managed to hold him off for the full 20 mile; tho admittedly my engine blew with just 100 yds to go, spelling the end for old UGY 507S, but 14yrs on I still have fond memories of that old car......
