Porsche Cayenne
Discussion
I have had both the S and turbo as loan cars from Stratstones when they were desperate to shift the things.
The turbo is a decent enough car but drinks like George Best - spent over £100 in fuel in one weekend. The S is okay but personally prefer the RR. I really would not buy a manual as when it comes to re-sale you are going to be mugged - these cars need to have big wheels, leather, TV, prob Sat Nav and auto in a decent colour to give a good re-sale value. If you are going to buy one ask a couple of dealers what there prefered spec on a second hand one is.

I've been on hol's hence late post. I have had experiance of RR P30 + the latest New Shaper. 1st on 3.0 Vogue drives shaft went at 400 miles/the loan car 4.4HSE broke down in Wales in the middle of no mans land/orange mobile no signal/hours of fun ? If your on the motor way cruising in RR its ok/attempt any country lanes and you will need new door mirrors. I have driven the Cayenne 3.2 + 4.5 it does every thing and more/ a big surprise/Tip- I think is one option to def go for/would you buy a 2/3/4 yr old Range Dogger with a Manual G-Box/ Did do some off road in local fields etc and the odd green lane in RR and I do think it would kick Cayenne's ass/but when do you ever go Off-Road......

The only Porsches anyone should buy these days are the GT3 and GT2. Then Porsche might get the message.
Absolutely agree...The Cayanne must be THE most crass looking car ever. Even if it was good enough to get me to Mars I'd still not be seen dead in one!
Well it's all personal taste. I am going to go against the grain here and say I like the Cayenne.
It was a 3.2 and I loved it. I took it on a test drive and it was pretty rapid. Yes I went for a Boxster but that was because I don't believe I could put up with the fuel economy. If they go ahead with the diesel (Porsche Club GB Forum/Porschaforum suggest they will despite the denials). Then in 2 years time I will consider it.

The Cayenne is an awsome piece of kit, I would also recommend not buying a manual for re-sale reasons....Most SUV's seem to have auto's these days and is the prefered option...
The V6 sounds fantastic as well, much sportier than say a Tourag. And IMO it looks a hell of a lot better too, Large alloys the 20" TechnoDesign alloys look great and suit the car.
Get her to have a drive of the auto and use the manual overide and see if she can adjust to it, its a good system.
Good luck.
