Thinking of a respray

So on the asumption that I will be keeping my car, I would be getting a respray. I hate the champagne color you see. I just stumbled across a MINI Cooper S in metallic flat black.

So what do you people think?

Reading the article this sounds fairly straightforward to spray, but do you think it would be above the abilties of your average paint shop all the same? Just a bit unsual. It looks cool on a MINI, but I think it would look absolutely evil on a Mercedes. Add some AMG wheels and a dark tint, perfect.
