Am I the only pistonhead member to have bought a Delorean? If so, I feel lonely about it, and not in a good way - and I thought when I had the Maserati QP I was on my own...
I do get a lot more 'flux capacitor' comments than most drivers, though.

I've always really liked them, I know its not all about speed but does it feel slow?

Are they Renault powered?

When not running on garbage/fusion, I think so yes.

But Cali emission laws utterly strangled the output to something likt 130bhp.

They were originally powered by a Peugeot/Renault/ Volvo engine (called PRV, for that reason) which had fairly miserable output because of the then tight emission laws. They can easily be tweaked to over 150bhp (using a cat bypass pipe) and modified without changing the engine to over 200bhp. DMUK Ltd can drop in an Alpine engine and get you to about 400bhp. In the US many have new engines and some have had twin turbos. Even with the original engine it will cruise at about 120mph without a problem. No power steering though, makes parking a bit of a mare.

I always have a hankering for a DeLorean. So far, I've been able to resist it, but I saw a nice one at the NEC a few years back that was tempting.

Are you not forever trying to clean other people's reasy fingertprints off it, though?

It's a bit like I think being pregnant would be - everyone feels they have the right to touch it 'just to see what it feels like'. Mr Sheen is the only product I use...

Its a shame that the origional Lotus design wasn't stuck to, it could have been an awsome car - petty Delorian was crooked, else would probably be loads more around.
Top speed can't be 120 - surely - I thought they dissapeared at 88mph...

He wasnt crooked and all charges were dropped.

I think he had the workers interest at heart and just wanted to keep his project alive.

My local kart track had a DeLorean park inside last time I went.

Unfortunately it was sat in a roped off area though, so I couldn't get a proper look...
