I've bought my first Alfa Romeo, a 166 Super Lusso!
Discussion
Lovely lovely car. Manual 166 3litres are extremely rare now in the UK.
I had one about 8 years ago. I got it from a bloke from the Isle of Wight who sold it to me with an MOT for £590! Best memory was 3 up on the Autobahn at an indicated 145mph. The engine felt amazing and was still pulling.
My busso Alfa obsession has led me to GTVs, 164, 166 and now I have a 156 v6 (thread on here).
I think the 166 sounded the best out of all of those. The intake noise just sounded better than the others. I might get a bmc cda for the 156 at some point.
I think you got the 166 for a steal and I’m sure your money is safely tied up in it.

This weekend’s plan is cleaning, particularly the engine bay. Any tips for getting the intake hoses super shiny?
Good old Autosol should do that I would have thought....On cleaning stuff, check out a citrus degreaser called Viro-Sol by Clover Chemicals.its brilliant stuff for a multitude of purposes
