Thanks all - yep it has done 350 miles since the MOT so straight back on it!

The MG was main driver for a few weeks, as the GTV cooling fan gave up ( see the thread ), which more than tripled the fuel bills. A pretty big incentive to get them road worthy!

I have the two radiators, fresh in from RockAuto, so now its just a question of finding a day to take it all to pieces and figure it out.

I took a look at the rear shock misting, its really not too bad and I will put that back a few months, research parts and take my time as no driveway at present!

Mrs. Spinakerr reported an engine light during otherwise uneventful driving this week. As I had fortuitously rediscovered my OBDII scanner in the clearout of my garage, I was grateful for my foresight in making the port a bit more accessible:

The code is for a general oxygen/fuel mix wibble. P1164 - from the insightcentral archives these are common and, if isolated to just that code, can disappear by themselves, or may point to a sensor being on the way out.

When the full exhaust and cat was replaced recently the sensor was too - I put this down to a change in driving habits - from me 'aiming for 80mpg' to my wife 'driving it like the Alfa Romeo'.

In other news, humans will be humans:

Good thing the paint on this car wasnt especially brilliant.

Thanks all - a few drives later, no return of the EML. Well, no instant return at least.

Speakers are fantastic - I really wasn't expecting much as they are bhind the seats but its a significant improvement. As always, Aphex Twin's Windowlicker was the test track and the (ideal situation) of a flat EQ worked a treat. The position of the speakers and the firing direction really helps with the treble clarity; those in the door cards are really too low down and there are no tweeters in the mirror pillars or dash like other vehicles.

Always keen to see anyother Citrus example, if only to compare paint fade!

We are confirmed fro Reader's Rides section of PH26 on Aug 10th, so if you want to inspect the actual level of off-lime / dead-yellow this car now is please do say hello.
