The BFG ATs are pretty heavy and draggy and do make a fairly significant difference to the MPG - easily 4 or 5 Mpg on my Hilux compared to the factory very mild AT Bridgestones.

I wonder how it would do with a more modest cruise speed - 30+ should be achievable I reckon.

The last time I drove a heavy vehicle without BFGs, (my old LR110CSW), I got stuck on the unmade lane to a client. The next time I visited that client, I was in my Morgan and the ground was as hard as iron.

I have no idea what tyres I'd run instead, at least once a week, I'm driving in conditions that would trap a sensible car on road tyres.

It looks good in blue. I saw one in a weird pinky cream colour yesterday.
Looking on the configurator it's called "Magic Mushroom"! hippy

Ah, I wasn't suggesting you take them off, I run them all the time as well just pointing out the effect on MPG. They're great tyres despite the drag, almost 80k in my current set with plenty of tread left.

Went to The Great Grenadier Charity Event in Elveden Forest this morning. 30+ Grenadiers there, representatives from Ineos, the local dealers, Melville and Moon, (posh canvas goods) and an accessories supplier. Got my truck nicely muddy on the 4x4 course there and had a gentle time looking at other people's car mods.

Just another Grenadier quirk - no need for a roof rack or roof bars for moving a ladder, just a carpet runner to protect the paint and some decent luggage straps, the roof is designed to take a load, as is. (150kg dynamic).

Just had the second service done at the supplying dealer, Chandlers of Belton. £459.00 all in

They have some warranty tasks to complete, so the vehicle and a courtesy car is booked in a few weeks - the HVAC needs a hard stare as one of the flaps appears to be faulty. There was also two dealer campaigns to do, (EGR activator rod and some wires to be rerouted.

It has done just over 22k miles so far and I am still very happy with it.

Thanks for the update - warming more and more to one of these given Toyota doesn't seem to be in anu hurry to give the UK a sensibly specced Land Cruiser.

Some good deals from Ineos at the moment, friend of mine just picked up one from Grange with delivery miles for well under £60k.

My local dealer has a Britannia blue station wagon with the rough pack, (AT tyres, front and rear lockers), heated leather seats, tow gear but not extended electrics for £55,570 - so £5k less than mine OTR. (Scarily, mine would be £70k OTR now).

If I did not already own a Grenadier, I could be tempted! After-Sales Manager says it was a pre-order customer specified vehicle that they declined to purchase.

Appreciate the updates. Certainly more appealing than the latest monstrosity of a land cruiser who went the way of the defender and went after the city target market

Spent part of the evening on the Market Place, Melton Mowbray with the Morgan.

Earlier in the day, I took a picture of my cars on the drive. Both are intended as long term keepers; I have had the Morgan since June 1991.

The definition of an eclectic 2 car mix there, love it.
