Got it lovely and filthy inside carting the old kitchen to the tip this morning biggrin

I'll take the rest tomorrow as our local recycling centre seems to be a haven for OAPs on a Sunday afternoon and will be rammed now until they're closed at 4pm rolleyes

Lovely car, OP.

I have nothing but good memories of my old F31. Mine was just a 320d SE, and a company motor, but it's one of the very few I've had that I really missed when it went back. Just quietly did everything really well. Sharp enough to enjoy a good bit of road, lively enough that it never felt underpowered, comfortable enough to do hundreds of miles in at a time with ease, rarely returned less than 50 mpg over a tank of fuel, and was a surprisingly handy load carrier, as you've found with the kitchen extraction. The best automatic gearbox I've ever experienced as well. Yours being the 325d, it will have a handy chunk of extra poke over my old one. smile

Mine was 100% reliable in the 2 years I had it, and the 40,000 miles I did in it. Servicing and tyres only. Nothing squeaked or rattled, and it still cleaned up like a new car inside and out.

They are brilliant all-rounders, and as a bonus, I think they're better looking than anything BMW makes today as well. I'd have another tomorrow.

Yours looks fantastic in that colour with those wheels.
Thanks for that

TBH I'm really enjoying the car; it's a great drive all round and comes in very handy for situations like this smile

We've only done about 5k miles in it now since buying it Dec 2022/collecting it Jan 2023 - but they've been uneventful, which is a good thing

And agree; the wheels look so much better in their new colour; the car sits on them superbly and their detail really stands out now :thumbup;

Your wheels look grand in that colour Dan .

It's sitting well too, bigger spacers might have made it look a bit Max Powee (or the modern equivalent).
Cheers Sam - I'm glad I went with ferric grey; it suits the style of the wheels really well

TBH 5mm spacers are perfect; 10-12mm would just be too much; the cars not low enough to tuck the tyres if that makes sense, so they'd always poke

I'm a massive fan of your wheels as well Dan. cool

You will be proud of me Dan...because I've actually cleaned the inside of the M4 this afternoon. My youngest daughter was complaining that it didn't smell very nice inside...so I thought that I'd better do something about! biggrin

Plus my missus had a quick look inside prior to me cleaning it(she doesn't go in it much at all to be fair), and she didn't look too impressed either!

It feels and smells much better now for sure. smile

I say it many times, but I love how you and Sam take care of your cars, and they always look in such a lovely condition both inside and outside I reckon. thumbup
Haha cheers Lee; it's a start then wink You'll be cleaning & detailing your car every other day soon enough biggrin

I've the wife's Racing Jazz to do; that's bloody disgusting inside! I cannot get her to do it at all... Pfft laugh

We were going to sell it but plans have changed; a new kitchen and new UPVc windows/doors have seen to that rolleyeshehe

Quick wash this afternoon and towel dried; the AG Rapid Ceramic spray is doing a superb job (as is the Gtechniq C5 on the wheels); tyres dressed and buffed

I've got new DA pads and Koch Chemie Heavy Cut 8.02 just delivered; so will hopefully be able to get around to fully detailing the car in the very near future. The bonnet and tailgate came up superbly with the Koch Chemie 6.02 fine cut & finish; but there are still some marks that are present, so the heavy cut will see to those and I'll finish with the 6.02 and ceramic coat then smile

Last picture shows the wheels as they sit now with the 5mm hubcentric shims and stud conversion; they sit perfectly IMO

Looking well Dan.

I still can’t believe that BMW don’t believe that the diff oil needs changing (or the gearbox oil).
Very odd Sam; more so seeing as how easy the diff oil is to change! Fluid isn't cheap; but whilst the cars still under extended warranty; peace of mind etc

ZF8 is a bit more faffy; best left to those that know what they're doing IMO

But the diff took all of 10mins; as did the fuel filter and oil change etc!

I'm pretty sure they recommend a diff oil change every 3 engine oil changes. Not sure about the gearbox.
Something like that I think Ross; but searched and couldn't find a definitive answer. Seems recommendations are around 50k miles etc

Plus I've absolutely no idea if/when it's been serviced last, so for c£65 inc the new plug; worth doing. Won't need doing in my ownership again biggrin

Trust all is well now? How's the car been treating you, and how is the back doing?
Cars all fine Ross; needs for nothing but to be used TBH - we're off to Sheffield (via Snake Pass of course wink ) next weekend and then down to Ilminster the weekend after, so its going to get some good runs in smile

My backs fine pal; no issues with that, its my insides that are trying to kill me again currently, backlash of my cholecystectomy this time last year (gallbladder removal)... Just trying to crack on currently; some days it floors me, rest are fine...

How's the M3; gone all quiet on that front?

Car looks really good!
Where is that unit? Do they do "normal" servicing jobs?
Need a good local indy.

You keeping ok too?
Hi Pal - it's my pals place in Leyland (round the corner from Berrys) - Grinspeed

Yeah they'll do servicing on most cars etc; they use a garage round the corner for MOTs etc

They are motorsport/fast road car specialists; but do normal cars too smile

Aye doing ok cheers; everything ok your end?

Washed and polished last night (just in time for it to chick it down all night) biggrin

Re-towel dried it this morning and oil/fluids check and a quick torque of the wheels

Off over to Sheffield tomorrow via Snake Pass and then down to Ilminster next weekend for a family gathering - about time it got some good runs under its belt...
