Got a spare key created and coded in.

The single key it came with works ok but looks to have had a hard life.

New one coded in by a mobile key coder.

He definitely took it all very seriously when here.

I did think it would have been a much quicker / easier job.

All done and a nice shiney new key created.

Definitely worthwhile doing if you've no spare.

Although the supply of compact diesels (if not demand) is dying out quickly, there's still a lot of merit in a Golf TDI in 2024. Especially one that's being made over.

Here's another take on the same concept, my slightly improved 2016 GTD:

Very nice!

Yes, i think in the medium to long term, the diesel compact 5 door will have had its day.

There is currently still demand for them - particularly outside of cities. Here in NI a compact diesel of some sort is still a go to choice for many.

The buttons were looking quite worn on the original remote, so found an ebay seller who does the little rubber pads.

5 mins converted it from this....

Just another little update.

The rear vents in the car had taken a battering over the years, as had the plastic surround and the arm rest. The original owner was a surveyor so lots of equipment being thrown in to the back seats took their toll.

It seems other people have had similar wear on this / have broken the vents so i ordered up a new vents / plastics surround set off of ebay for £42.00 delivered.

The arm rest also had got frayed so a seconf hand one for £30 on ebay was ordered.

Feels like a nice little update. Wasnt a fortune but helped to sort out a badly battered area.
