2001 Honda Insight ZE1 - Citrus Yellow

Speakers are fantastic - I really wasn't expecting much as they are bhind the seats but its a significant improvement. As always, Aphex Twin's Windowlicker was the test track and the (ideal situation) of a flat EQ worked a treat.
The cover of the album/EP can no longer be considered sardonic. Sad times. I used to visit the Yamaha parts shop opposite the green, for my Fazer quite frequently back in the noughties. Happy times.
I think that I'll use this track to set up the audio in the R500 which is quite hit and miss, but great when on song.

I had one come past me on the M1 last week -it was such a treat to see.
It was neither you or Jonny Smith!
Ha! You would be surprised how many people are disappointed when I get out and Jonny Smith does not.It was neither you or Jonny Smith!

Congratulations.
Hopefully see you there, even if I did get turned down for Readers Rides.
Oh blast - well, it would be great to see you - at least you can set the alarm slightly later.Hopefully see you there, even if I did get turned down for Readers Rides.

There's another citrus that I see from time to time at a garage in Buckingham. The pump guy was saying that the owner also runs an M3
Highly supportive of the sensible & silly garage combination. Variety is the splice of strife and all that.bolidemichael said:

Yep lovely area, that green especially during the summer. Ooo I would love to hear it in the R500! Hope to see you in the hanger and I'll bring the CD! Wait... is that car too modern for CDs?I used to visit the Yamaha parts shop opposite the green, for my Fazer quite frequently back in the noughties. Happy times.

Big week for the Insight - 200,000 miles passed!
Unfortunately the exact moment wasn't captured as the driver was too busy negotiating rush hour traffic, plus you can't see your 'real time' mpg display if you want to look at the total.
The post-milestone miles were piled on during a weekend to Wales, where the car took me without a single hiccup to the super-north and ferried me back post-Snowdon hike and late-night revelling at just about a 79mpg average.
Upon return a new noise emerged from the svelt Hondaship - an rpm-linked whirr. This was a litle worrying as gearboxes of this era are prone to input shaft bearing maladies, and many Insights have been stranded awaiting the right bearings and expertise, plus a hefty bill, to sort. After speaking to a few of the gurus (one of which is on PH - thank you!) I took it to Scott at Rims Engineering in Teddington, as he has always helped out with diagnosis in the past, and previously serviced the Triumph GT6 gearbox.
He was keen to learn more on the Insight and what would need to be isolated for gearbox removal, but after a small drive he was confident it wasnt the gearbox, but one of the pulleys sounding exactly like a gearbox bearing. Phew!
It looks to be either the idler or the water pump - both look old so I'm goign to order both, tackle it myself and change the gearbox oil in the process. Nothing will get in the way of the 10th August...!

I'm missing it this year, unfortunately. However -- I believe that it would play CDs... possibly, maybe! Thanks all!
Drivebelt and bearing have arrived, but I have decided against last minute attempt to fit and fettle today - the car is working, if I get anythign wrong today I won't be able to get there... and it looks a lot easier to do from below with a lift. Later.

I'm hazarding a guess that given the railway tracks in front, we're atop Snowdon, or Eryri as is now.
Yes indeed - 3.5 hrs up, 2 hrs down - highly recommended, even as a 'busy tourist' route.dobly said:
^ looking closer it isn’t Weybridge.
Insight looks fantastic against that background.

Where was that mountain top picture taken please?
Google maps link?
If it was the actual summit there would have been hordes of folk in the picture.Google maps link?
That's looking West from somewhere near the junction of the Llanberis and Pyg/Miners' Track. Llyn Cwellyn shining in the valley.
