Can anybody give me an idea of how long it would take to get from junction 29 of the M25 to Redhill in Surrey. In the rush hour. The AA route planner says it is @40 miles and will take 57 minutes. I feel they are being rather optimistic. I would say nearer 1.5 hours. Thoughts?

The honest answer is that there is no answer.

in my experiance crossing that bridge can take an age in itself depending on the random actions of other numpties.

It took me an hour and a half to get fron Tunbridge to the Tunnels on Tuesday night at rush hour times.

You're unlucky, as that section of the M25 is busiest in the direction you're travelling in at those times!

In the morning rush hour there are typically big delays on the clockwise section prior to junction 5 owing to the merging of the M26. Its usually stop-start until beyond Clackett Lane. I reckon the Dartford Crossing is busier southbound than northbound during the morning rush, too. Must be all those people desperate to leave Essex tongue out

In the evening rush hour, the queues on the northbound approach to the Dartford Crossing are very bad these days. Any problems in the tunnel and traffic can be stopped to as far back as Junction 4.

I wouldn't know exact journey times but it won't be the nicest of commutes. Best of luck thumbup

EDIT: I reckon you're about right in allowing 1.5 hours. Monday morning will be particularly bad for your morning clockwise journey.

Ask your employer if you can vary the times you
work.

I've often asked for 10-6 or 8-4 or 7-3 instead
of the usual 905.

Helps spread the load on the road.

Hey, did the journey yesterday morning. Took 1.5 hours setting off at 7.30am. Dartford Bridge was busyish then ok until just after junction 4 when it was slow pretty much until I turned off at junction 6.

Think I may paint Highway Agency on my car and hoon down the hard shoulder! (Joke, in case any jobsworths are reading this!!)
