Has anyone ventured this way and stayed in the area? Looking for some suggestions on where to stay (within a resonable budget) avoiding the town itself.

Thanks

We stayed in Chalon-sur-Soane (about 15 mins south of Dijon) last year en route from Bolougne to Nice. A little Villages Hotel just next to the Autoroute.

45 Euros for both of us for the night. Secure parking too for the S2000

Absolutely no frills room, but you do get breakfast!

We wanted to stay in Beaune, which is a really nice place, but was full.

We stayed at Campanile in Beaune on Thursday night. It is right smack bang in the middle of France and 2 mins drive from motorway. I felt comfortable parking S2 in car park which is nicely off the main road and reasonably secure.
Stayed in St Quintin following night although perhaps too far from your intended stop over. Will forward details if you want them.
Enjoy the trip!

I recently stayed in Le Chapeau Rouge in the centre of town. It was easy to get to and they have secure parking (Valet parked). The advantage is that you are in the old town and there are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby on foot. As you approach Dijon, follow signs for "centre ville" and then the small red signs for "Le Chapeau Rouge". It can be booked online through the Best Western website.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions - never had any problems.

One of the better Campanile hotels IMO - and it has a small outdoor pool.

Beaune is a lovely town and worth a day to explore.

I have stayed in Dijon but years ago and I cannot recall the name of the hotel.

Usually prefer Beaune as well.

Last year we stayed in the Tulip Inn, which is a chain hotel and not particularly special but located in a nice old building, is clean, comfortable and astonishingly cheap (Eur60 or so for a double on the deal we found) and bang in the centre of town.

Has a really rather good restaurant right next door called Le Fleury.

There is a carpark which I was ok with leaving an S3 in but might be dubious about leaving a really nice car in as it is open and not watched.

We've staye dthere. Good restaurant.

Here's a top tip: stay at Le Mannasses at Curtil-Vergy in the middle of the vineyards. Good value. Rooms are very good. Wine tasting every evening.

We stayed at a very nice B&B near Chalons-sur-Saone, which isn't far from Dijon. Area was nice and quiet and parking was secure. The owners were very friendly, and for a modest sum they would also provide an evening meal with aperetifs and wine.
