Hi guys, I hope everyone is well?

So me, my partner and a few friends are wanting to do another Europe trip start of may. We were hoping to do the usual famous passes but then after a bit more research we found out they’re closed until June.

We have done a trip to the ring previously but this time want a bit more of an actual road trip with a day stop at the ring on the way home, we’re coming from Portsmouth in the uk.

I was hoping someone has done or knows of a good route for us through Europe that’ll be filled with lots of nice roads and link back round to the Nurburgring on the second to last day. We’re hoping to do a 5 day trip so nothing too far away.

Thank you in advance.

Whether passes are closed all depends on the snow conditions at the time. Best thing to do is to check nearer the time as some could well be clear. On the other hand I have known some still closed first week of July.

Best bet for May would be Iberian peninsula. Pyrenees would be most accessible for a shorter trip and quite incredible roads but a 5 day itinerary isn’t going to include the ring.

Really difficult when you're going to lose 1-3 days travelling. Needs a week and a half for anywhere in Europe, in my opinion. I was thinking I could do a trip to Vosges in France and maybe go into Black Forest from there, just doable in a week but still a lot of motorway.

We did Rotterdam - Nurburgring -Reims -Calais last year.
You can probably do that sort of route within the 5 days. We did it over 10 days which was nice and relaxed.
Obviously you can use another ferry crossing.
