Dieppe South of France | Route advice needed
Discussion
I’m going to the south of France next week, we are ending up in Fayence but doing an overnight stop just outside Dijon.
Ferry lands at Dieppe from Newhaven.
Has anyone done this route or similar and has recommendations for roads? Any worthy stop offs or lunch recommendations appreciated.
Thanks

There are some nice roads in Normandy, especially the bits around Lyons-la-Forêt. After that you can cross the Vexin regional park ang go around Paris towards Burgundy using the highway, it's quite a flat area. If you have to stay in Dijon then just go trough the upper part of the Morvan, then a bit of the Jura and finally the Route Napoléon.

I found the Bison Fute site useful for some pages which gave good traffic predictions on the peage.
Lyon, heading North, lived up to expectations last night, we took the M7 and the tunnels (largely against recommendations, but it’s very simple) and at around 8pm we queued start/stop in heavy traffic for about 30 mins. A broken down motor home in the first tunnel, cue plenty of angry French drivers!
