From Leeds to Norwich

I need to get from Leeds to Norwich on Monday with inpatient kids. Last time I went I remember it being painfully slow after leaving the A1, with single lane roads and caravans.

Any obvious recommendations to reduce stress and time after leaving the A1 or do I just suck it up?

Anything other than the obvious off A1 at Newark, A17 A47 is going to be a fair old diversion In my opinion.

Or lots of B road trundling which might be fun if solo but not fun for passengers.
