Pot hole download reporting system
Discussion
Wouldn't it be good if there was a system where someone reports a pothole and then your vehicle sat nav picks it up as you drive down that road so you can avoid it? Might be a wallet saver, especially in the dark. Maybe it could download to a phone app as well to warn bikers/cyclists etc?

As above Waze does exactly this and is available on iPhone or android. As said by Mezzanine - Waze does it.
The problem is that there are so many of the buggers, that you tune out the alerts as they go off so much. Also on Waze they don't persist very long unfortunately, so you can report one, drive down the same road the next day or so and there'll be no report of it.
The FixMyStreet app and website also has a reporting thing, but they also ping your report to the local council so will be more likely to have it actually progressed to being (at least superficially) fixed.

That's good but more cars have a generic sat nav system than the Waze app?
A lot of cars in the last 5 years+ will have come or had the option to come with android auto or CarPlay. Why anyone would spec a car with generic say nav these days with the often slow software and limited updates is beyond me. ecsrobin said:

I fancied the idea of some kind of pothole button that is connected to a GPS reciever, Takes the latitude and longitude and generates an automatic email / fixmystreet report for the relevant authority.
More reports = more fixes and less getout clauses for claims :P
Too much programming for me to bother with though.
