Spain N260 in winter

I'm going to be in northern Spain over xmas and I was hoping to do some/ all of N260. Anybody have experience of the route in winter? Is it generally clear of snow?

I realise it's weather dependent but want to get an idea whether it's going to be practicly impossible as large sections are very likely to be snow-covered or closed. I'd have chains in case of getting caught out but would most likely head further south if snow looks likely.

I drove most of the N260 in September, and whilst Ive not driven it in winter, I'd not expect it to be closed in winter. This is because most of the N260 is in the lower foothills of the Pyrenees or the plains below. I did drive across multiple passes in the Pyrenees (from the N260), and some had those winter gates and/or signs to indicate if the pass was closed due to snow. I never saw any of those on the N260. It may have some localised snow in places, if very cold, but shouldn't be closed as its a major trunk road.

Its a great drivers road in many places

Thanks Reg. I wasn't sure whether it would potentially be a bit snowy, but looking at the route it only gets high in a couple of places so I'll stick with n260 as planned. It certainly seems to be a great road so would be good to try it out!
