Calais to Antibes - similar to the post below
Discussion
Guys, i am going to antibes on Sat and need to plan my route - i use pistonheads alot but not this section (just found it so i thought id give it a bash!).
It is going to be a nightmare journey due to school holidays, can anyone tell me the roads to avoide / go on?
Our ferry leave Dover at 6:30am so we will arrive in Calais early morning - its not going to be pretty!
Ta for the help.

You haven't got much choice...
I'd suggest A26/A5/A31 - keeping East of Paris and out of trouble followed by the standard A6/A7/A8 from Dijon, Lyon, Aix-en-Provence to Antibes.
We'll be taking this route to Antibes in September.
At the beginning of August the A6/A7 will be JAM PACKED.
Edited to add - 745 miles, 12hr 20min according to RAC route planner ('average speed of 60mph on Autoroutes'...
