Sunrise on the Grossglockner
Discussion
Great photos and thanks for sharing. It brought back memories of attacking the Grosse Glockner in my Chimaera. Started at the bottom in warm sunshine with roof down and wearing shorts and short sleeved polo shirt half way up pulled over and donned jeans, warm jacket, woolly hat and set off again, still with roof down. Arrived at the top still in bright sunshine all togged up, roof still down and with heater on full. Never known a temperature change like it! I'd do it again without hesitation. Fantastic road and spectacular scenery.

That takes me back to my first drive up the pass, back in May 1987 with a mate in my Golf GTI. We started in shorts and T-shirts, putting on the heater and gradually increasing the heat as we ascended. When we reached the top, having not got out at all on the way up, it was like stepping out at the North Pole.Gassing Station | Roads | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
