Kefalonia Roads
Discussion
Been many a time and I was there week before last again. Staying around the airport end of the island, Lassi and Argostoli.
Couldnt work out the speed limits on any of the roads...
Some bigger out of town roads had 30 signs at the start, do 60 (which still felt slow for the road) and all the local traffic was overtaking left right and centre.
Of the few speed signs I saw, most had been graffitied over so couldn't be read.
Best guess most of the time.

I saw 3 police cars and you need a good map as the roads are badly sign posted Couldnt work out the speed limits on any of the roads...

We visited it about 20 years ago and hired a Jimny, fortunately. The condition of the roads was dire, with potholes and broken edges. Directional signage was intermittent at best and the standard of locals’ driving was scary. Pedestrians seemed oblivious of vehicles and cattle, goat and sheep similarly wandered at will. Despite numerous near road accidents we had a fabulous holiday, and the Suzuki came into its own when we went ‘off road’ (little difference to the ‘main roads’ in reality ) to find the ghost villages destroyed by a huge earthquake the island suffered in the fifties.
Sounds like it hasn’t changed from what other posters have said
